In an interview with Sir Alec Jeffreys, he shared his findings from his studies of DNA testing on the animal community. “The original DNA fingerprinting system, has been used in a fair number of zoos to try and establish family relationships within captive colonies of endangered species of animals and birds, in particular to identify close relationship…those animals that you don’t want to interbreed.
